TradesViz Alternative: MyTradeEdge vs TradesViz for Futures
TradesViz packs a lot into one journal: AI features, trade replay, simulators and syncs for Tradovate and Rithmic. Its free plan does not cover futures, though. If you want to journal futures for free, or you want something simpler, MyTradeEdge is worth a look. Here is a futures-only review of both, with sources.
Side-by-side comparison for futures

Where TradesViz is stronger
- Depth of features. TradesViz lists AI query and chat, daily AI briefs, trade replay, simulators on Platinum and backtesting. MyTradeEdge does less, on purpose.
- Rithmic API sync. TradesViz can pull Rithmic trades through the API when you press sync. MyTradeEdge has no Rithmic sync; it imports a CSV of closed trades or a NinjaTrader 8 export.
- Yearly price. Billed yearly, TradesViz Pro works out at $14.99 per month, the same as MyTradeEdge Pro billed monthly.
Where MyTradeEdge is a better fit
- You want to journal futures for free. The TradesViz free plan supports stocks only. The MyTradeEdge free plan includes futures, with no credit card and no time limit.
- You want prop firm limits up front. MyTradeEdge shows the daily loss limit, max drawdown and profit target you set for each prop account next to its trades. Drawdown is counted from the starting balance, not trailed, so check trailing rules against your firm. Try our free prop firm drawdown calculator to see how trailing rules move your floor.
- You prefer a simpler journal. MyTradeEdge keeps the journal focused: imports, AI grading of each trade, checklists, tilt and revenge detection, analytics. Backtest, Trading Plan and Autotrader are separate apps you can ignore.
When to stay with TradesViz
Stay with TradesViz if you use its replay, simulators or AI query tools, or if Rithmic API sync matters to you. Those are real strengths and MyTradeEdge does not match them. If you only need a clear futures journal with prop firm limits and honest feedback on your discipline, start on the MyTradeEdge free plan and compare with your own trades.

Frequently asked questions
Is TradesViz free for futures?
No. On its pricing page, read on Oct 23, 2026, the free Basic plan supports stocks only. Futures need Pro ($19.99 per month, or $14.99 per month billed yearly) or Platinum.
Is TradesViz worth it?
If you use its replay, simulators and AI tools, it offers a lot for the price. If you only need a futures journal with prop firm tracking, a free plan such as MyTradeEdge Free may be enough.
Does TradesViz sync with Tradovate and Rithmic?
Its own guides describe a direct Tradovate connection for live and demo accounts, and a Rithmic API sync that you trigger yourself. MyTradeEdge has neither sync; it imports a CSV of closed trades or a NinjaTrader 8 export.
Can I move my history from TradesViz?
You can import trades again from your broker or platform exports. MyTradeEdge does not import TradesViz notes or tags directly.
